Today the final paperwork was completed to close out the May 12th Kerber Family and Accident victim event that Motokazie organized.  A Special THANK YOU goes out to all of the participants, bidders, sponsors and volunteers!  We raised $144,953.28 (after costs) which was distributed directly to the 18 people affected.  Sincerely,  Lee Theis.

 

 

Motokazie learned today that we lost our case.  I am disappointed in the ruling by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.  This has been a long and grueling process.  I prepared my project to handle either outcome of the Court’s ruling.  With their decision, I now have a clear direction on building MotokazieLand in Rice County - I have to eliminate Snowmobile and Kart use.  My new plans will fit exactly into the existing ordinance.  They are being finalized and Motokazie will submit for a CUP before Jan 1st. 

I look forward to working with the Rice County Commissioners and Staff to move efficiently and effectively through the EAW and CUP process.  We will continue to post updates on the MotokazieLand page as to the CUP process (public hearing dates, etc.).  Thank you for your support.

Indoor motocross update.  Motokazie did attempt to secure locations and terms to hold events in Minnesota.  Unfortunately we cannot find acceptable arenas.  Indoor Motocross promotion is exceptionally difficult with air handling, dirt and building costs.  I am sorry to say – Motokazie will not promote this winter. - Lee

Motokazie regrets to inform riders that we CAN NOT hold a District 23 race at Kellogg on Aug 12^th.  Please read the District rule below:

 

SECTION D, DATES OF POINTGIVING MEETS.

All point paying meets shall be held between January 1 and December 31(Inclusive), except for Motocross season defined

under Competition Rules Article VIII Section B # 3. Point paying meets shall be those meets scheduled at the Annual

Sanctioning Meeting. All requests for additional District 23 point giving meets or changes in the location or date of

previously scheduled meet must have the unanimous approval of all clubs and promoters holding sanctioned meets of the same type. It is the responsibility of the requesting club or promoter to obtain these approvals. After verifying the approvals, the District shall grant the requested change or addition pending AMA approval. Points shall be kept on an annual basis.

As I learned of my mistake today, I did call Staples Motocross to ask for approval.  It is unfortunate that Staples motocross track will not allow permission to Motokazie to take the open Mazzeppa date that was released last week.  Again I apologize for the mistake.   Lee Theis

2 Stroke Challenge and Ross Thompson Memorial this Sunday at Kellogg MX (7/22).

2 classes for 2 strokes only to honor the memory of District 23 racer and advocate Ross Thompson will be included in this Sunday's MX race. The 2 classes will be: 125cc 12+ (standard District 23 class) and an Open cc 2-stroke only class. The classes will race 6 lap motos or longer, depending on the turn out. Entry is $30/class.
100% payout to the 125cc class and 150% payout to the Open cc 2stroke class.

B and C class riders participating in these classes can only win equivalent prizes or gift certificates; but are encouraged to participate. All A riders will be paid out in cash.

May 2012 MotokazieLand update:  We continue to be 100% committed to this project as we push through the processes.  Motokazie continues to be represented by Briggs and Morgan in regards to our Motokazie v. Rice County suit.  The suit is in the Court of Appeals at this time and it will take a few more months to know any result.  Our EAW have been submitted since January to the county and we continue to work on moving the process forward.   This continues to be a difficult road and YOU can help by calling and writing the Rice County Board of Commissioners.   – Lee Theis

New non-points classes for 2012! For Motocross & Supercross races.

In effort to attract new riders, Motokazie will be testing these classes:
1. Shift & Shaft class, 4-8yrs old machines  CRF50, TTR50, PW50, JR50, XR50
2. Open Beginner (D) class, 12yrs & up, 122cc and up (this class is for riders that have not raced before, referee reserves all rights to move advanced riders up to C class)

Classes will be awarded trophies (33%) & medals.  No points will be awarded. These classes will be double dropped with other races.  D riders cannot race any other C, B, or A designated class, but can race in age specific classes.

The new Kerber benefit posters are in and ready for volunteer pick up.  There are currently 3 places to pick up:  Home Town Bank, WW Will Son and Motokazie April 21^st race Jordan.  Please help us out by grabbing some flyers and posting.

We are on schedule at Kellogg mx. Track in good condition, ride 11 to 4 today 14th.

PeeWee (50cc) riders register for racing at the Main Sign Up Tower at Kellogg MX this year. That is the 3 story white building by the big track finish line. PeeWee racing will still be on the PeeWee track.

Our season opener this weekend April 14/15 at Kellogg Motocross. Friday open for camping 5pm, Saturday organized practice ($30) 11-4pm, Sunday race practice start 8am, races start 9am. weather updates at 952-244-9996 and track pictures on http://www.motokazie.com. Prices $10/night camp, $10 race admission and $30 per class.

The track is very dry and packed in so we can take a lot of rain. We will dig the track in the morning before practice.

Benefit updates:  Today I have heard of many great donations coming in from professional riders and our volunteers.  A bank account specific to the event purpose has been set up and make donations payable to: Kerber family & accident victims benefit and Mail to PO Box 56 Jordan, MN 55352.   Auction item drop-off location is Ww Will & Son  311 190^th St W. call before drop: 952-492-2411.  We are actively searching for volunteers immediately to assist with promotion of the event.  Contact Lee@motokazie.com .  All persons are encouraged to print and post the new event flier in local businesses.  We will have a few thousand copies ready for next weeks promotions push.

Kellogg MX reserved electric RV sites are available for the 2012 season.  The cost is $160 for the season (includes all electricity), contact Jamie@motokazie.com for details.

Jordan, MN is set to OPEN!  Track is in great shape for Saturday practice 11-4pm.  For those riders that have missed out in the past, this track has more of a motocross feel.  This is not tight Supercross.  Jumps are laid out for novice, intermediate and expert, so everyone has options.  Soil is a sandy loam with a wide track for passing opportunities.  Just a short drive down Hwy 169 to the metros closest track.  New in 2012, Motokazie will hold more Saturday events, as we hope to attract new faces.

Feb. 2^nd 2012 Today was court for Motokazie v. Rice County and things went well.  The Judge was engaged and we expect a written ruling within 90 days.
