The Jordan supercross track is rebuilt and ready for 2012. Each year MK has to remove 2000 yards dirt for the fair and then rebuild. The new track has 2 large triples, a cool rhythm section and long whoops.

MK News Motokazie Banquet sign up form click here. The Motokazie Series Banquet will be Nov. 19th at the Park Ballroom in New Prague, MN. Pre-entry prices are $16.50 for dinner and admission for 10years old and up or $10 for dinner and admission for 9years old and under. If you choose not to pre-register tickets at the door will be $20 for dinner and admission (no price break on age difference) or $5 for admission only. Keep in mind there is a very limited number of dinners available to purchase at the door, so please plan ahead accordingly. Stay tuned for more Banquet details to be released.

October 18, 2011 update.

 

Motokazieland is moving forward and we need your help before the next meeting.  The first public hearing took place, Thursday Sept 29^th; and Motokazie received a favorable recommendation 4-0 to move forward.  At the Board of Commissioners meeting, last week, we received a 3-2 vote in favor. However, Motokazie needs to gain 1 more vote from the commissioners.

 

There is an organized group that continues to fight us; and the have heavily influenced 2 Commissioners.  It has been difficult to grasp the lack of understanding that the general public has about our sport.  I need your help to educate these 2 Commissioners that do not understand the benefits of MotokazieLand. 

 

How you can help:  email Lee@motokazie.com and I will supply you the addresses of the commissioners that may benefit from understanding our rights to ride!  I would ask that you write a respectful letter or call them.

 

To remind our supporters - the current issue is the definition of “organized motorsports” in the Rice County Ordinance.  This hearing is specific to amending the ordinance definition to include ATV, Kart and Snowmobile Tracks.  It is very important to Motokazie to win approval because MotokazieLand needs to be a year round business that can reach all off-road motorsports.  Currently only Motorcycles and ATV (trails) are allowed at our proposed park.  It is critical in order to build a park of this size, to have ATV, snowmobile and kart business. 

 

The next meeting is Thursday, Nov 3^rd, 7pm, at the Rice County Government Services Building, 320 N.W. 3rd Street, Faribault.  Please be there to support your rights. Thank you for your support.

Indoor Motocross in Fergus Falls will not be held for the 2011/2012 winter season.  We would stress that we are not out of the Indoor MX business, just in need of the economy to pick up.  We appreciate the customers we have and we will see you at the banquet Nov 19^th and again in the spring.

Last SX race of this season on 9/10 at the Kellogg MX facility. Faribault SX races on 9/10 and 10/1 have been cancelled. The event at Kellogg: Supercross Series final race of the season practice at approx. 2pm, racing at 3pm. The SX track will include the Dirty Dozen, Kong Jump then use most open areas by the tractors (outside the first turn). 8 Lanes total are planned, which will make this track a little larger than most. Directions: 58374 Hwy 42, Kellogg, MN 55945 on Hwy 42 between the towns of Plainview and Kellogg. From Highway 52 at Oronoco, take Hwy 12 east. Hwy 12 will meet Hwy 63, cross the intersection and 12 becomes Hwy 247. Go 12 miles on Hwy 247 to Plainview. In Plainview take Hwy 42 north for 6 miles. The track is on the right side of Hwy 42.

This week Thursday 8th supercross in richland center WI. Practice 6PM race 7PM 19 classes for bikes and quads.
Saturday 10th Kellogg MX vintage with modern classes practice at 9am race 10 am. Supercross practice should start around 230 PM after vintage races on a new SX track. Cost is 10 admission for the day. MX class 30 SX class 24.

9/3 Saturday Practice 12-5
9/4 Sunday MX Race, practice at 8 and racing at 9
9/5 Monday MX Race, practice at 8 and racing at 9

Gates open on Friday at 4pm, Saturday at 9am, Sunday and Monday at 6:30am. Gates close each night at 10pm.

$20 pit pass for the weekend. If you are not staying for Monday’s race, turn in your wristband when you leave on Sunday night for a $10 refund.

Camping is $10 per night per vehicle. Limited “vip” parking available with limited electricity, $12 additional fee per night for these spots. Email Jamie@motokazie.com to inquire on availability. Trailers left overnight at the facility without a tow vehicle are required to have a camping pass.

Activity Schedule
Saturday night – 6pm Pit Bike race (4 stroke only) on the PeeWee track. 3 classes: Powderpuff/MotoMom, 10”, 12”. Entry fee is $5 per class, proceeds to Josh Sorensen benefit. Safety gear is required for all participants.
8:30pm Bingo under the pavilion with prizes.

Motocross Series Update:  Oct 2^nd date scheduled for Faribault will be cancelled. Sept. 25^th in Kellogg will be the last race for 2011. The series rules will be modified to:

2011 SERIES RULES
12 = Total races in the Series
7 = Minimum number of races required to qualify for the Series
9 = Total Best Finishes counted for the Series
Earn Bonus Points by attending the required number of races listed below, in the same class: 100% of races attended = 20 bonus points, 10 races = 10 bonus points. Championship Awards given to the Top 10 in each class provided the 7 race min. has been met.

 

Supercross Schedule update:  2011 Sept 10^th date will be moved to Kellogg Motocross track with a 2pm practice start, 3pm race.  The track will be modified for a tighter Supercross layout.  This date will be a double header with VMX vintage and current bike motocross event in the morning.  $10 admission is good for both race events.  Camping is allowed.  Oct 1^st race will be cancelled.  21 races would be included in this schedule.  A May rain out in Jordan makes it 20 races in the series so the 2011 series rules will stand.

This week Motokazie is holding 4 Supercross events.  6pm practice and 7pm race for: 8/10 Austin, MN, 8/11 Waconia, MN, 8/12 New Ulm, MN.  1 hour early for 8/13 Neilsville, WI 5pm practice and 6pm race.  We are looking forward to seeing all our racers this week!

MotokazieLand Map

I am proud to release the new information that MotokazieLand has a new 130
acre parcel for the proposed park. I have regrouped since the last permit
application and I look forward to working towards a successful CUP
application. I know that I have taken many hits over the last 2 years, but
I will forge ahead and learn from the past.

The 130 acres of land has approximately 90 feet of elevation change, rolling
terrain and 3/4 mile of frontage on I35. I will update soon on any upcoming
meetings. Goal for completion of the park is Spring 2012. Sincerely, Lee

Ross Thompson Memorial 2-stroke challenge
Kellogg, MN Sunday July 17th District race will have $1000 added purse. The Ross Thompson Memorial 2-stroke challenge will have 2 classes for 2 stroke only, #1 standard District 23 12yrs + 125cc class and #2 Open cc 2-stroke only class. These 2 classes will race 6 lap motos or longer depending on turn out. Entry is $30/class. Open riding and camping on Friday and Saturday.

B & C riders can only win equivalent prizes or gift certificates but are encouraged to participate. All A riders will be paid out in cash. $1,000 Pay out break down:
125cc Class: 1st $175 2nd $75 3rd $50
Open cc class: 1st $325, 2nd $175 3rd $100 4th $50 5th $25 6th $15 7th $10

In memory of Ross there will be an intermission parade on the track that all riders are encouraged to participate in.

Autocross

Autocross info is posted on the right side of this page. Click for info and entry form. Saturday June 18th, Midway Motocross, Kellogg, MN. Tech 1 to 4pm, warm up 5pm, Races start 6pm. The standard track will be modified to fit the needs of trucks, cars and UTV classes.

Kellogg Motocross is holding an open ride day Sunday May 29th 12-5pm. Track will be graded and watered.

Great news, the Carver Hare Scrambles will run this Sunday May 29th on an approximate 7 mile course. Conditions will be good. The river is much lower than on May 8th and we can reach many more acres.

The important message to convey is the parking is limited! We need to encourage car pooling and short vehicles. We do not have room for lots of RV’s. All parking is dry and limited to about 6 acres. Parking has been moved up to the land owners house and barn area. You will NOT be able to save spots, our parking crew will direct you to where you have to park.

Motokazie will be using Moto Tally system with the TV, but no transponders. You have to have a District 23 number on all 3 sides of your cycle. Trail type will be mix of sand, gravel and dirt. Conditions likely to have moist dirt, little dust and only a few muddy spots. Overnight parking is available Saturday night. We will run a Saturday night sign-up 7-8pm.

Jordan Race for tonight 5/20 is cancelled.  It seems very likely that the rain is going to hit during practice.  We are sorry to disappont the riders, but this seem like the best decision based on the forecast.

Motokazie announces its first ever AutoCross Truck & Car Motocross event. Saturday June 18th the Kellogg MX track will be modified for trucks, cars and UTV racing. The spirit of the event is for cheap or junk vehicles to air it out for the crowd. The drivers will beat the heck out of their machines and bodies. Click here for more info.

Motokazie has officially moved the date of the Carver Hare Scrambles to Sunday May 29th. This decision had to be made to enable us to put on a quality event for the riders and family of District 23. Our club measured all of the trails that we currently had made and determined that we could not put on a quality event without use of the low land. On May 29th we will be able to use an additional 130 acres and provide a beautiful 8 mile loop.

The Minnesota River just today, lowered below flood stage. This flood has been one of the longest (7 weeks) in history. It has been very unfortunate for our club, but we have no control over this. Please join us at our new date Sunday May 29th. All times and prices remain the same.

Supercross season opens this Friday May 6th. Scott County Fairgrounds Jordan, MN. Practice 5:35pm and racing by 6:45pm.

Kellogg MX is on for this weekend April 16th & 17th. Track and equipment will be ready on friday to prep the track! Friday camping is open, Saturday practice 12-5pm bikes only. Sunday gates open 6:30, practice 8, racing 9. Always call before you haul 952-244-9996.

MotokazieLand update: Thursdays meeting resulted in 1 item (EAW) passing forward to the April 12th BOC meeting. The items for the CUP (conditional use permit) resulted a public hearing. Thanks to approximately 50 supporters present. The CUP was tabled until the April 21st Planning Commission meeting. Motokazie and engineering staff is continuing to hold meetings, submit comment and deal with any issues that may be snagging the project. Thank you for you support and stay strong.

Reminder, The most important meeting for MotokazieLand is this Thursday April 7th, 7pm. Plan to meet in the parking lot of Rice County Government Center at 7pm sharp. Depending on meeting schedule, our items will likely start around 7:30pm. If you plan to speak, be sure to practice, trim comments to 2 minutes or less. Weather is looking good to open two tracks this week. Jordan for practice on April 9th (11am-4pm)and Kellogg MX practice on April 10th (12pm-5pm) and ). Open to bikes and ATV. Motokazie is interested in hearing from families that may be interested in joining our family flagging plan, track crew or administration team.  For many years riders and families have utilized the benefits of free camping, riding and admission, while helping at events.  We have spots open at Kellogg, Mankato and possibly Jordan.  Email Jamie@motokazie.com for details.
